GOALS

As part of the ISCTE-Health Initiative, my key responsibility was leading the "Arts and Health" group. This group aimed to create a meaningful connection between the arts, specifically visual arts and music, and health sciences. Our focus was on addressing social and health-related challenges in society through an innovative, preventive, and health-promoting approach. By emphasizing the role of the arts in enhancing public health, we targeted various audiences within the community with the goal of informing and shaping public health policies. Our multidisciplinary team was composed of experts from diverse fields including the integration of artists and researchers from other disciplines.

One outcome in which I was particularly involved was in the development of guidelines to support future interventions that use music with senior populations in the community. These guidelines were grounded in the implementation of the project "Sing for Health" carried out by artists in 2019-2020 (Artistic Direction: Anabela Pires and João Frizza; and Scientific Direction: Iolanda Galinha and Luísa Lima).

Furthermore, we conducted art therapy interventions for university students in collaboration with art therapists from the Portuguese Society of Art Therapy. These interventions were designed to promote well-being among university students.

Currently, I am engaged in a project focusing on Street Art, Emotions and the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda. A Dataset with Street Art has been developed and will be available soon.

A Shinny App with the findings can latter be viewed in this link. (under construction)
